Union Hospital in Dover has expanded the hours the FirstCare center will be open to care for patients.   Starting this week FirstCare is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Saturday and Sunday hours remain 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The center will be located on Oxford Street, next to the Tuscarawas Ambulatory Surgery Center.  

Carey Gardner, director of community relations, said FirstCare has been well received by the public since it opened on January 15.

?From that first day FirstCare has been busy?, Gardner said.  ?We have been pleased with the public?s response to FirstCare as a new service of Union Hospital.?

Gardner says Union Hospital FirstCare Center provides convenient outpatient medical care for patients that do not require the resources of the Emergency Department and when their family doctor is not available.  Union Hospital is working with the members of the Medical Staff to provide physician services at the Center.
