The 21st annual Community Health Profile, co-sponsored by Union Hospital and the New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club, is coming up on Saturday, September 29 at the hospital in Dover. Appointments can be scheduled between 6:00 am and 10:30 am. Union Hospital phlebotomy staff will draw blood samples which will be tested in the UH Laboratory.

An appointment can be made at any time by registering on-line at the Union Hospital on-line Calendar of Events.

Complete the on-line registration form for each person wishing to attend the event.
Those who prefer making appointments by phone may call between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18. That is the only date phone appointments will be made. The number to call at that time is (330) 364-0950.
The cost again this year is $40 for the blood profile and $15 additional for the PSA. Those without appointments may walk in between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. on the morning of the event. All Blood Profile participants are asked to fast for 12 hours before the time of their blood testing.
Each participant will receive a cholesterol lipid panel testing levels of HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol), and triglycerides, plus testing for anemia, kidney and liver disease, diabetes, and thyroid function. A PSA test for prostate cancer for men over 50 years of age is also available. All participants will be offered a blood pressure check.
Within two weeks, each participant will receive a written report of their blood profile results. Any result outside of the normal range will be identified.
Members of the New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club assist with taking appointments and with hosting participants at the hospital on the morning of the event. Proceeds are used by the club for its many community service projects.
