Monday, August 27, 2018, DOVER, Ohio: A special 25th anniversary calls for a special party.
And that’s exactly what the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital Auxiliary is planning for its silver anniversary edition of the “Warther’s Christmas Tree Festival” this November.
Tickets are on sale now for the annual Christmas Tree Festival “Preview Party,” which is scheduled Nov. 9 (Friday) at 6 p.m. at Warther’s Carvings museum at Dover. Tickets cost $75 each for the Preview Party and can be purchased online on the Auxiliary Christmas Tree Festival page of the hospital website at this link: http://www.unionhospital.org/auxiliary-fundraisers/5/christmas-tree-festival. Tickets also are available in person at Pam’s Posies in downtown Dover or by calling Jen at Pam’s Posies at 330.340.5611.
Preview Party ticketholders have the first opportunity to enjoy the decorated trees in the festival, receive a special ornament and have an opportunity to participate in a fund-raising auction of specially prepared trees featuring cutlery, jewelry and furniture.
“We also are planning a few special surprises for the Preview Party that we know our ticketholders will be very excited about,” said Connie Finton of New Philadelphia, a member of the hospital Auxiliary and the chair of the Warther’s Christmas Tree Festival for its entire history. “We’re encouraging everyone to get their tickets early so they don’t miss out on this event, which kicks off the Christmas season in the community.”
The tree festival is open to the public Nov. 10-18 with admission only $5 for those ages 12 and older. Children younger than 12 are admitted for free and all tickets are sold at the door.
Finton said she still “marvels” about the longevity and popularity of the Christmas Tree Festival.
“When we started this event, we really didn’t know what to expect and we’ve been so grateful for the support of the public in the Tuscarawas Valley who share our mission of supporting our community’s hospital,” Finton said. “This event just seems to grow every year, and I can’t thank everyone enough as we all work together to benefit the patients of Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital.”
New this year is a special Facebook page that recently launched – Union Hospital Auxiliary’s Warther’s Tree Festival – to provide festival information throughout the fall.
The Christmas Tree Festival traditionally features more than 90 Christmas trees, filling the galleries of the Warther’s Carvings museum. The Christmas trees in the festival are available for sale as are many wreaths, holiday arrangements, and the entire lobby display. Proceeds from the Christmas Tree Festival are donated by the Auxiliary to Union Hospital for the purchase of patient care equipment and facility improvements.
Huntington Bank again is serving as the primary corporate sponsor for the Christmas Tree Festival, and the room sponsors again will be Dover Hydraulics, Parkway Auto Group and WTUZ Radio.
