The Rotary Club of Bolivar-Zoar is hosting its annual Spring Health Check, E-cycle Drop Off and Community Pancake Breakfast on April 28 (Saturday) from 6 to 10 a.m. at Tuscarawas Valley High School in Zoarville.
Sponsored by Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital and the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Recycling District, this event offers a comprehensive blood screening to check a wide range of health indicators, as well as a free e-cycle drop off for household appliances, electronics and computers.
A secure drop-off for document shredding and unused pharmaceuticals also will be available at no cost from 8 to 10 a.m.
Cost for the health check is only $50 and includes a complimentary pancake breakfast. A PSA test for men is available for an additional $15.
Health Check participants will receive a wide range of screening tests including comprehensive metabolic panel (kidney and liver function, blood electrolytes, blood sugar, sodium, potassium and chloride), lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL and LDL, triglyceride), Hemogram Profile complete blood count (anemia, immunity or bleeding disorders), and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH). Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) is recommended for men ages 50 and older for an additional $15.
The Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital WorkWell occupational health staff will draw the blood samples and a printed report with all test results will be mailed to the home of each Health Check participant.

The pancake and sausage breakfast is open to all community members for only $5, anytime from 6 to 10 a.m.
