The comprehensive blood screening event covers a wide range of health indicators at a discounted price and is offered as part of a fund-raising project to support the many community programs of the Dover-New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club.
Appointments are required, are available beginning at 6 a.m. and can be made online and by telephone. Online appointments are available anytime by visiting the Union Hospital website at www.unionhospital.org, clicking on the “Health Events” link and completing the registration form for the event. The cost is $40 for the complete testing package, and for an additional $15 men ages 50 and older can receive a PSA prostate screen.
Union Hospital’s phlebotomy staff will draw the blood samples and testing will be completed in the hospital’s laboratory. A printed report will be sent to the address provided to each participant, and this will include all test results and noting any result reporting outside of the normal range for the age and gender of the individual.
In addition, the Union Hospital Vascular Center again will offer its valuable, painless and low-cost vascular screening service for interested registrants of the Community Health Profile. Vascular screening is a quick and easy way to check a person’s risk for stroke, aortic aneurysm and peripheral artery disease.
The cost is only $99 and is available only to those who already have registered for an appointment for the Kiwanis Community Health Profile. Registrants for the Community Health Profile who would like to make an appointment for vascular screening should call (330) 364-0888 to reserve their time slot for vascular screening.
