Dr. Jack Kehl, a surgeon in the office of UPS Regional Surgical Specialists on the Union Hospital campus will be the featured doctor when Union Hospital’s Community Health & Wellness Department holds its monthly “Walk With A Doc” this Saturday (Dec. 3) at the hospital.
And Santa Claus is dropping by too!
Walkers will gather at 9 a.m. in the hospital cafeteria for the brief health-related discussion with Dr. Kehl, followed by visits with Santa and a rejuvenating walk on the hospital’s walking trail. Union Hospital’s campus features an outdoor walking trail that is open to the public.
The event will be held rain or shine, too, as the walk will just move inside on the hospital’s indoor walking path if “the weather outside is frightful!”
Dr. Kehl is a native of Newark in Licking County who graduated summa cum laude from Cedarville University before earning his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He participated in clinical research at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society for academic excellence. He also completed an internship and residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
The entire event is free and no registration is necessary.
The event is for walkers of any age and there is absolutely no cost to attend. Healthy snacks and water will be available, and free blood-pressure checks also will be featured through the expertise of the Union Hospital Community Health and Wellness staff.
Dr. Kehl also will provide a brief health-related discussion and will be available to answer questions and encourage participants.
