For the fourth time in the past five years Union Hospital has been honored for improving the health of patients and achieving operational efficiency. The Midas+ Platinum Quality Award recognizes hospitals that excel at using data in a meaningful way to improve clinical and financial outcomes.
“Each year, Midas+ Solutions, A Xerox Company, compiles a quality scorecard for each of their more than 800 clients” said Carey Gardner, director of community relations at the Dover hospital. “Union Hospital was among the top performing five percent of all those hospitals reporting more than a dozen quality measures like patient outcomes, length of stay, mortality, re-admissions rates, surgical site infection prevention, treatment of pneumonia, heart attack and heart failure, and more.”
Gardner says these measures are among the most important indicators of the quality of care a hospital provides.
“This award should give residents of this community and our patients more confirmation that the quality of care they receive at Union Hospital is very good,” Gardner said.
“Data-driven performance analytics are essential to helping healthcare providers improve the health of patients while driving operational efficiency,” said Clayton Nicholas, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Midas+ Solutions, A Xerox Company. “The Midas+ Platinum Quality Award recognizes hospitals that excel at using data in a meaningful way to improve clinical and financial outcomes.”
Gardner added that Union Hospital has earned the Midas+ Platinum Quality Award four times since 2011.
