Union Hospital reaches out to people of all ages through our many Community Health and Wellness programs. Every year, thousands of people keep tabs on their health with a free or low-cost screening, learn more about new medical procedures from a UH physician, or take part with family and friends in fitness events or programs.

Regularly Scheduled Screenings and Health Checks

UH Community Health nurses offer a regular schedule of screenings. All are either free or very low-cost. Check our Health Events Calendar for the monthly schedule. Some screening events require an appointment. You can make appointments through the Health Events Calendar or by telephone as instructed.

Every month you will find a convenient time and place for:

  • Blood Pressure Check
  • Lipid Panel and Total Cholesterol
  • Blood Sugar
  • Hemoglobin A1C Diabetic Screening
  • Special events for children and adults

Community Walking Program

Everybody who is walking for health and fitness is invited to become a part of our new Community Walking Program. You can be a member no matter where you walk or how often. This program brings some helpful structure to your personal walking program, sets some reasonable goals, and offers support and rewards for reaching those goals.
