Union Hospital again will offer its annual free "Union Hospital Teens Exploring Careers in Healthcare" (UH TECH) program to high school students in 2018. The program provides students with opportunities to review various careers and hospital programs during the winter months, starting in January and ending with April.
The UH TECH Committee plans to provide information about the UH TECH program to guidance counselors at high schools around the area.

This program is offered monthly during the school year, September through April, meeting the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. to Noon at Union Hospital. Guided by a Registered Nurse, students visit a number of nursing units in the hospital which may include the Surgical Unit, Maternity Center, Emergency, Inpatient Rehabilitation, ICU, Pediatrics, and Cardiology. At the end of the tour lunch is provided by the hospital along with discussion of the experience.
Students who attend a Nursing Career Exploration are invited to join with others interested in a nursing career to visit the KSU Tuscarawas School of Nursing to meet the faculty and learn more about nursing education. The KSU visits are made in December and April.
Each Nursing Career Exploration Program is limited to eight students and these events fill quickly. Click here for the hospital’s on-line Health Events calendar and look at future months to register on-line.
