Union Hospital’s Maternity Center can help you and your baby get the best start possible. We offer a variety of services both before and after your baby arrives:

Orientation Tours

Expectant families are welcome to tour our new Maternity Center and talk to our staff planning their childbirth. This is a good time to ask questions about the options available and become comfortable in the surroundings that will be so important to the family in the near future. Childbirth Education Classes

All couples delivering their baby at Union Hospital are eligible to take part in our popular Childbirth Education Class. The class meets one evening a week for five weeks and helps couples understand what to expect during their last weeks of pregnancy and while in the hospital. Maternity nurses teach the students about the labor process and their medication options. LaMaze breathing techniques are introduced and reinforced during all five classes. Feeding options are explained as well as care of the newborn infant. The sixth week of the program is an optional class for those moms who will be breastfeeding their baby. Lactation Consultation

The Lactation Office at the Union Hospital Maternity Center provides education and support for breastfeeding mothers both while they are still in the hospital and on an outpatient basis.
