Expansion Project Objectives

1. Meet Patient and Family Needs
   
   1. Build additional Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) Suites for 6 total
      
   2. Build second C-Section Operating Room, to help eliminate emergency patient transports
   3. Expand family waiting areas for greater comfort and privacy
   4. Improve safety and security for patients
      
      
2. Meet Patient and Family Preferences
   
   1. Build 17 private patient rooms and baths
   2. Furnish rooms for comfort and provide overnight bed in room for Dad
   3. Create an environment to promote family involvement and privacy
      
      
3. Meet Community Needs
   
   1. Provide facilities that meet patient and family expectations at the local level
   2. Improve ability to attract and retain physicians for pre-natal care and delivery
   3. Improve operating efficiency to help keep Union Hospital a low-cost provider
      
      
4. Meet Hospital Needs
   
   1. Facilities are vital to our mission of offering high-quality patient care in the community
   2. Build and maintain important patient relationships that will continue for a lifetime
