At the UH Healthplex, we take a team approach to sports medicine with physicians, therapists and certified athletic trainers working together to prevent injury, formulate treatment plans and create programs to heal an injury or promote surgical recovery. We also offer certified athletic training services to area high school sports programs and athletes. Using a variety of machines, equipment and programs, we can improve athlete performance through proven evaluation and enhancement techniques.
Strength training is basic to most programs. Helping an athlete recover from a knee injury requires close monitoring of activity.
Sports specific training can help an athlete improve their performance, such as increasing explosive starting power for a track athlete.
Our athletic trainers work in many area high school, both to treat injuries and help prevent them from happening.
Measuring flexibility is one way to track progress of an athlete's recovery from an injury.
Innovative training methods are helping our patients recover more quickly and strengthen joints against further injury.
