People who are acutely suicidal, addicted to drugs or alcohol, or potentially harmful to others will likely be referred to other appropriate resources.

Support and guidance for people struggling with mental and emotional challenges starts with expert evaluation followed by compassionate treatment. Our Behavioral Health Center staff listens to patients so we know how they feel.

Patients may face a full range of challenges, from dealing with daily stress to coping with a diagnosed mental illness such as depression or personality disorders. Our professional staff will evaluate each person's unique struggles and design a plan of treatment to help them in their recovery process.

Union Hospital’s Behavioral Health Programs are Designed by Experts in Their Fields

The UH Behavioral Health Center staff is comprised of a psychiatrist and a team that consists of a registered nurse and therapists, all of whom have experience with psychiatric evaluation; group, individual and family therapy; symptom and medication management; and education for nutrition, wellness and life skills.

Union Hospital provides two levels of care based on the needs of the patient:

Partial Hospitalization Program

  • Outpatient
  • Four to five days a week
  • Up to five hours each day
  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Combination of group, individual and family therapy

Intensive Outpatient Program

  • Outpatient
  • Three to four days a week
  • Three to four hours per day
  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Combination of group, individual and family therapy

Both programs are designed so patients return home to families and friends each afternoon and are home for the full weekend.
